4.5 stars. This book is incredible. The characters, the magic system, the intrigue!!!
I adored this book! For a while, it seemed kind of slow, which is why it took me so long to read it. But once is finally picked up, I really enjoyed it. Audrey and Thomas are perfect. It is fun to put a character to Jack the Ripper too. You won't be disappointed by the reveal!
Ooh this was a good read! It is a solid 4 stars!
This is a murder mystery set in a fantasy type world. There is no magic in this book though which I was hoping there would be. It has more sci-fi elements, but I'm not going to complain at all.
This book is told from several different characters perspectives, 6 to be exact, all women. So if you do not like that, you probably won't like this book. I found each perspective to be easy to grasp though and follow.
This is not a 5 star read for me. There is a romance, while I find cute, it feels thrown in and doesn't really do much for the plot. I would love a spin off following these characters. Also, this is a standalone novel, and some elements felt packed on or thrown in to achieve the standalone. For the most part, I feel the world building was very good for being a single novel though.
I do hope the author explores this world more in the future, because I really enjoyed it and loved the concepts around it. I definitely recommend this!
