First of all, where do I find an Adam Carlsen? Tall, broody, arsehole with dark hair, perfection! Especially because he's the right type of arsehole, he's an arsehole with a good heart. That's the most important part, by the end of the book when I'd learnt more about him I'd come to respect him.
Olive Smith is also the kind of woman I'd love to be friends with, she's strong, smart and funny. She didn't allow all the horrible things in life to knock her down which made me respect her. I really wanted to give her a hug through most of the book. That girl deserved the world. I really connected with her, when she was sad I was sad, when she was happy I was happy.
When everything was falling apart, as they do in books, I was so emotionally invested that I had to pause the book and walk away. This just shows how good the writing by Ali Hazelwood was and how well Callie Dalton's narrating was as well. I just loved every minute of it.

It was a nice read, but my goodness were some of the characters annoying. They redeemed themselves at the end but the amount of times I threw this book because of something Jake and Nicole said. Fixie’s growth through this book was inspirational the way she grew a back bone.
The ending felt rushed though, everything came together far too easily. But other than that it was worth the read.

This was so beautiful done, with the music and the voices! It was like being in the theatre. It was like a dream!

I found The Villain on Tiktok and just had to read it. It is the second book in a series and I didn't read the first book. I don't feel like I was missing anything by not reading the first book. After reading this book, I do want to go back and read the whole series because I did enjoy this one. It's got some elements that are inspired by Hades and Persephone. It was quite dark and violent at times, and there is slight twists you don't expect.
The main female character Persephone held her own and would not let Cillian bulldoze her into submission. She did not go running back into his arms the minute he asked for forgiveness. She was a strong independent woman who knew her worth.
Cillian's nickname was 'Kill' and I think that sums up his personality perfectly. He's a morally grey bad boy down. How can you resist?
