ARC Review

I really wanted to like this book. By the end I was starting to buy in to the story but it took soo much to get me there.

First, Emma's backstory as a lawyer wasn't believable to me. It could be because I am an attorney in the United States but I didn't find it believable that she would do 5 internships before graduating. Also, that first assignment felt very farfetched (although I guess it could happen). 

Second, there were some tense issues. There were parts where I couldn't figure out if the story was meant to be the characters looking back on a past event or that the story was happening in real time with the characters. This brought me out too many times.

I am realizing that dark romance is not for me. There were pieces of this book that I liked, i.e. Max! I love a strong FMC! However, I do not like Cain and it was hard to get through his chapters!

Also, can someone explain to me why dark romance books end on cliffhangers?

This book was so cute! I loved the romance! I was rooting for Dax and Wil as individuals and as a couple the entire time!

Vibes: 
1. Hannah Montana meets Bling Ring (in part) meets celebrity comeback (i.e. Lindsay Lohan)
2. Tom Holland protecting Zendaya from the press

This is my new go to recommendation for anyone that wants a good romance book!
