5 Things About Artemis Fowl
1) Wow. Just ... Wow. I ate this up in an evening. It was so captivating.
2) The author did a really good job of making me like both sides. Artemis and Holly. I wasn't sure who I wanted to win. I'm still not sure. SO MANY DOUBTS
3) I love criminal protagonists. And genius criminal protagonists at that.
4) There were times when it got a little lengthy and I was just like, GET TO IT, PLEASE. This resulted in some skimming ... #noshame
5) BUTLERRRRRRRRRR
I can't wait to read book 2!

Five Things About The Map to Everywhere
1: this was a really really REALLY amazing idea. I absolutely love the storyworld. It is so magical and fun and creative and unique and just - AIJHSFGUHDSGDS
2: the writing could have been a lot better. Maybe I was just overly critical since I've spent the last month in intense micro edits and critiquing, but it really got on my nerves. There were some consistency issues, too, what with Fin being forgettable, which I understand is tricky to keep up.
3: the characters also could have been a bit more rounded, but it is a middle grade novel so the amazing story world distracted me from caring too much
4: the plot also could have been tightened. But it was good, overall
5: THE STORY WORLD. GUYS. THE STORY WORLD.
there are several confusions I still have, but all in all I have finished this book with a sense of childlike wonder. I will definitely read the sequel (which has an AWESOME title, by the way)!

3 1/2 stars, I think.
I still have mixed feelings.
I don't know. Something seemed off? I'm not sure. I loved Ella, and all the female characters were great, but I didn't really care for the love interest. I guess he just didn't get enough screen time for me to get to know him. I liked the lessons Ella learned though, and her spunk is great. The prince is repulsive. *pukes*
Of course, you shouldn't take my word for this. Go read it yourself! It's quick and fun and totally worth it, even if you have mixed feelings/aren't a big fan like me.

I'll admit, I didn't read the entire book, but I read most of it. The stories were well told for fairy tales and very ... Interesting. Or shod I say, grim? Hahaha. Aha. EHEM. Yeah, anyway, it was an interesting read. If you like Grimm's fairy tales, go for it. But I will warn you, they're realllyyyyyyy dark and pretty ... Strange. Not for children. (Let's just say I was inspired to write a murder mystery series by these)
Upon finishing this book, I'm really tempted to give it five stars because I AM SCREAMING LIKE WHAT. It probably started out as 3 stars, then turned to five, so we're going with 4.
Why, do you ask?
Five Things About The Rithmatist
1) THE WORLDBUILDING. Like, this guy. is. crazy. O.o howwwww. It's so in depth and complex how all the rithmetic stuff works. Like WAHT EVEN.
There was a slight downside to this though. The first 100 pages, I felt like nothing had really happened. It was basically reading a book on Rithmatics. And while it was interesting, it wasn't really ... Captivating.
2) Melody. Can I just ... I LOVE HER. She's such a well done character and AH.
3) all the characters, actually. Joel and Fitch most especially. I just CAN I FLAIL FOR A MINUTE??? *flails*
4) THE TWISTS. THE TURNS. YOU THINK IT'S OVER, BUT IT'S ACTUALLY NOT. AND JUST. AHHHH. And I really, really loved the ending. It didn't drag on, and it didn't cut me short. It was just PERFECT.
5) Those last 70 pages were soooooo good. That made it 5 stars. I think I went into this expecting fast pace and action tho, which it was not. It was a fantastical mystery, and mysteries are slower in the beginning. So this book is just ... Amazing. I loved it, even if the first part was a little hard to get through. Definitely reading the sequel!!
*There was no language and no inappropriate content. It was a little violent at times, but it's a mystery. What do you expect? XP
