emotional reflective

Jesus Christ, Anaïs Nin deliver me!!! Slick, revelatory without being maudlin, lyrical. RIP Anaïs you would’ve loved river by Joni Mitchell

I will try not to be completely backhanded when I say this: even when the writing and genre are definitively NOT for me, The Cathartic Moment will always manage to make me a little weepy.

Also learning that when other readers describe a book as “not your typical romance” they mean exactly your typical romance but with very overt childhood trauma and sometimes less sex
reflective sad slow-paced

Exquisite. Completely surrendered to the labyrinth of this novel until its climax. Profoundly moved. What a first book.
