This was the femme vampire story I have been waiting ages for. I really enjoyed this book and the author’s writing style, it felt very immersive and was super entertaining to read.

This book is told from two timelines with two POVs, and each POV highlights the pain, loneliness and anger each woman felt. The two story lines do come together eventually and it was really fun to see how it would play out, especially as a reader knowing the background information from the first part of the book.
I will say the tone shifted immensely between the two storylines and could have benefited from a dual storyline told alongside each other. Reading the first half of the book kind of set the tone that I would be reading a vampire novel about how she survived centuries as a monster, but then we get to the second half of the story that felt very anticlimactic and a little disjointed. Both women are dealing with massive amounts of grief and telling their story’s alongside each other could have built up the climax a bit more.

Overall, I thought this was pretty good. I love vampires, I love lesbians, and I love unhinged women, what more could you want?

This was a fantastic exploration of academia and the abuse of power within marginalized communities. This story follows Tatum, a young woman struggling to thrive in the academic world until she meets famous author Mateo, who at first seems like a great friend, until he isn’t.
Later in her life, Tatum receives a call from a journalist asking her to comment on the recent S.A allegations against Mateo and how her relationship to Mateo truly was. Told through letter written to Mateo, Tatum recounts her relationship to him and how he held so much power of her.

This was such a wonderful audiobook and overall important book. It touches on topics of racism, classism, and the power men hold over women during financial strain. Highly recommend if you are looking for a book that will make you think about the power we have within ourselves and the power we have to stand up against predatory men.

This was a short, sweet and beautiful adventure about helping out wherever you can. I really enjoyed the art, it was so beautiful and every little detail really was made to stand out. The story was good, if not a little too short and rushed. I wish the story was perhaps divided into two separate “quests”, that way the story could have focused a bit more on developing through the characters.

I still really enjoyed this, and the art again was magnificent. I also love the queer representation and how easily it was represented. I would pick up more from this author and continue on the adventures with Juniper, Hadley and Fern.

This was a wild and adventurous book about how toxic masculinity is really the true horror of our modern day. The book explores feeling lonely, without a direction and portrays how desperate we are to really fit in.

I really enjoyed the sarcastic M.C and how nonchalant they are about transforming into a werewolf, it was just another thing they had to deal with on top of a job they despise. The story felt a little slow at times and I was a bit confused about where it was going, but the ending really saved the day. I will say the P.O.V that the story is told from feels little odd and took me out of the story; I think it could have benefited from a first-person POV so we could truly see how Brian (M.C.) developed as a character.

Overall, this was an okay read. I enjoyed all of the queer characters and the strong bonds of friendship that can happen if you just let it.
