This book shattered my heart into a million pieces. One of my all time favorites now! If you haven't read it PLEASE do yourself a favor & read it!

This book made my heart happy. I truly fell in love with the kids. I wish I could quit my job & go work on that island. I also appreciated the LGBTQ+ representation & the romance was adorable. If you want to read a book that feels like a hug... this is it.

Wow. Everyone needs to read this book. I listened to the audiobook & hearing the author himself narrate made everything feel so raw. Hearing him speak to his son about the bodies of black men and women was so powerful. There were so many amazing quotes but one that stuck out to me was

“You are growing into consciousness, and my wish for you is that you feel no need to constrict yourself to make other people comfortable.”

Moral of the story read this book.

I finished this book SO fast. Being in verse made this book seamless to absorb. The authors use of repetition made every word hit hard. Amal's story of being falsely imprisoned & navigating this life changing experience was so powerful. READ THIS BOOK or listen the audiobook was great!

What an adorable book! Shay & Dominic's banter was so fun & engaging. There was also a little bit of steam which caught me off guard, but cmon who doesn't like a little steam. If you are romance lover like me this book is totally worth the read.
