While the crime that this book recounts is harrowing and sad, the lyrical prose with which Sanders describes all sides of the story is a thing of beauty. I'm also astounded by how forgiving and positive Jennifer Hopper is in the wake of the tragedy. I envy her resilience. Although the subject matter was hard to read, it was definitely a book that one should read if only to get all sides of a story...the strong and vibrant woman who was killed, the forgiving and dynamic woman who survived, and the emotionally disturbed man who committed the violent crime.
