I love foxes, they're pretty much my favorite animal, which drew me to this book. It's reminiscent of other animal-led stories like Guardians of Ga'Hoole or the Warriors series. Not surprisingly this author has actually written some books for the latter.
While I was interested by the idea of magical foxes, I think that this story kind of went nowhere. There were just chapters full of nothing happening and I think this story could be been condensed. It has a decently paced beginning, a slow middle, and a quick end. It just never seemed to find the right pace.
Other than that it is pretty serviceable. I'm going to continue with this series, see if the sequel is any better.
