Def didn’t need this sequel (tho I loved the John Hughes section!)
This one was harder for me to get through because it focused a lot of attention on a few very specific pop culture references for an extended amount of time, and if you’re unfamiliar with them, it’s hard to read and also fangirl alongside the characters 🤷🏼♀️

I can see a lot of people not liking this one for the writing style alone, BUT once I was able to adjust to that, I found this book beautiful, heartbreaking, and full of so many little lessons.
I also loved how the stories weaved in and out of one another. It was all very intricate.

Definitely written for a middle grade audience, and middle grade romances are a little too frustrating for me.
Going for the three C’s with this review.
This book was very convoluted and relied a lot on convenience and coincidence. Three stars instead of two because there was at least some intrigue.
