This story was awkward and the characters definitely didn’t act their age.

Would have been a three star read if it wasn’t for the random mention of some cultural appropriation?!

I need answers! But also not sure if I can keep reading about the Tox’s side effects 😅

CANDY CAIN KILLS was a gorey good time!

Brian McAuley, author of CURSE OF THE REAPER, is back with a spine-chilling Christmas novella that is sure to give you nightmares! The story was honestly so fun (if you can look past the brutal murders, chaos, and heartbreak) and I enjoyed rooting for our cast of characters.

The disability representation and overall diversity was an added plus and this book has me excited (and terrified) for what McAuley comes up with next!

Huge thanks to Shortwave Publishing for sending an ARC of this one to me!

This one comes out on November 14, 2023!

I was immediately drawn to this book by its cover, NY setting, and the promise of multiple characters and their interwoven stories!

While all of those things came through and I enjoyed a good chunk of this book, each of the main characters is beautiful, privileged, and had relatively similar story arcs ending in the happiest of ever afters, making them feel a bit one-dimensional.

An enjoyable read, but had me eye-rolling by the end.

Looooved that this book was based in Yosemite and just loved all of the hiking/camping references overall.

This was an enjoyable read, but the story did get a bit messy/convoluted and the pieces seemed to fit together too well.

Jane’s thoughts are constantly meandering and it took away from moving the story forward. There’s some intrigue there, but Jane’s unlikeableness and the writing made me not wish to continue.
