Love me some mama drama!
This one really kept the mystery going, though I will say the ending felt a bit chaotic.
Overall, a fun domestic thriller with an intriguing mystery!

This book very much had the vibes of other UK thrillers with similar covers (lol can that be a new sub genre???)
I enjoyed trying to piece this one together and really loved the setting and ski element!
Part three threw me for a loop for a bit, but it roped me back in eventually.

I love the idea behind the story and the magical realism, but just not vibing with it 🤷🏼‍♀️
I really loved the idea behind this book and certain aspects of the story, but it ended up being too cheesy and cringe for me to really love reading it.
This was a book I added to my tbr way back when, which I primarily read for the nostalgia factor of putting this play on in high school.
It did manage to tick all of those boxes, but the writing itself was very drawn out (a quirkiness which works on stage, but not so much on paper), and it just seemed to go on an on.
The characters were still cute, but I think they and the story would have benefited from another round or two of edits!

Peter Swanson has regularly been a hit or Miss author for me and I’m happy to report that I really enjoyed this one!
The first half is told almost entirely through diary entries which I thought was fun and the mystery was quite intriguing!
I also really loved Swanson’s acknowledgments at the end.

Nearly a five star read! (the language seemed to constantly switch between feeling too ya and then a bit adult, and didn’t feel entirely seamless throughout)
I love a book that centers on saving the local indie bookshop and this one had so much love and heart in it. There were moments of optimism and grief and it was just an overall well-rounded holiday read!

This book is told completely with mixed media - emails, texts, WhatsApp threads, interview transcripts, news articles - and it surprisingly didn’t take me too long to get a grasp on the stories and characters!
I loved the snark and sass and had my own favorite characters to root for, and loved seeing how my theories matched up with the investigators’ when their input popped up throughout!
Unfortunately, this didn’t give me a ton of Christmas vibes and I think a lot of that has to do with being American and not growing up with the yearly pantomime at Christmas 🤷🏼‍♀️ still fun regardless!

Thanks to Libro.fm for the ALC of this one!
As an audiobook, this one was fantastic! It features a whole cast of characters, sound effects, and a farting dog, which made it extremely entertaining to listen to.
The story itself was a bit cringe and the character of Chase felt a bit over the top and annoying.
However, I will say that by the second half of the book, I found myself really enjoying the ridiculousness of the story! I think this one's a good listen if you go into it knowing not to take it too seriously. Also, the author's note!!!
This one comes out on December 12!

This one felt very Only Murders in the Building Season 3 and it was a lot of fun! The first few chapters were a bit of a slog for me to get through, but once I did, things really picked up.
It's been nice to really see Hawthorne's evolution over the course of this series and I'm intrigued for the release of the next book.
