Nine years ago, “Scarlet Christmas” took the tabloids by storm after a tragic event took place at an elite graduate school. Now, Charlie, who fled the scene unscathed all those years ago, has turned her life around and her back on her old friends. With the ten year anniversary approaching, Charlie fears the secrets she kept that night are close to bubbling up and will do anything to keep that from happening.

EVERYONE WHO CAN FORGIVE ME IS DEAD by Jenny Hollander is a slow burn mystery debut that hooked me in from the start!

Alternating from past to present via the means of a therapist kept me on my toes and really added to the slow unfolding of the story from a reader’s perspective.

I was intrigued by the secrets and the interactions among the characters, which made this one super easy to devour!

The end was maybe a bit lackluster considering all of the buildup, but a great debut regardless!

Huge thanks to St. Martin’s Press, Minotaur Books, and NetGalley for an ARC in exchange for an honest review!

This one started off strong, but got tiring midway through.

A fine atmospheric thriller, but nothing too surprising in it!

Big thanks to the publisher for an early copy of this book - it comes out January 30!

Emill's sophomore novel comes in swinging! The twists in this one were pure chaos, which I loved, and the importance of family really showcases the heart that this book also has to offer.

Emill once again handles issues of class and race in an intriguing, unputdownable way that has me itching for his next book!

Five very difficult stars!!

Thanks so much to the publisher for sending me an early copy of this book.

After hearing that Jodie Comer has been putting on an amazing stage performance of this story, I was intrigued to pick up this book adaptation.

This one was uncomfortable, angering, and empowering all wrapped up into one and it was extremely interesting to watch a criminal barrister character transform in her ideas on the law system once she was a victim to it.

Highly recommend, but also know that there are major triggers for rape going into this one.

This one comes out on January 30!

Another fun meta mystery from Benjamin Stevenson!

The Ernest Cunningham books have such a special place in my heart for their cleverness and this one was no exception!

I loved the train setting in this one and the stacking of different mysteries.

Definitely hope there's another book in this series' future!

*I received an ARC of this book from the publisher in a giveaway win from Jordy's Book Club*

Thanks to Libro.fm for an ALC of this one!

I loved Kiley Reid's SUCH A FUN AGE and was looking forward to diving into this one.

The audio was a good way to go when reading this since it's so character-driven.

The petty drama that unfolded in this college-set novel definitely reminded me of my own time in school 😅 but the ending was definitely a wtf moment all around.

An intriguing read but one where almost nothing seemed to have actually happened by the end of it 🤷‍♀️

slow-paced

Thanks to Berkley Publishing for gifting me a copy of this one!

RADIANT HEAT is a slow-burn, highly atmospheric thriller that takes place over the course of time and spaces!

The wildfire really set the tone in this one and, while it took me a bit to fully appreciate the flashbacks, once I understood how everything was connected, I was all in.

This one had beautiful and heartbreaking moments and almost took on a literary tone at times.

Definitely unlike any thriller I've read before!

Thanks to Harper Perennial for a finished early copy of this bonkers book 🤯

Our main girl is Tate and when she’s accused of murder, she just can’t seem to keep her story straight 🤔

The story was fast-paced, twisty, and made me question everything! This book is out now and is definitely one I’d recommend you pick up if you love a book full of surprises!

Really loved seeing this first time intro to Hercule Poirot and am also pleased to know Agatha really knew who he’d be as a character from the jump!

This book really sets up how further Poirot books would be laid out and handled and was an overall fun mystery!
