This book really differentiates itself from a lot of Christie’s other work.

The characters lacked a bit of the quirkiness that I’ve come to know from her, making them feel as though from a different time, and the last 50 pages or so evolve into a sort of sci-fi horror, which I found extremely fascinating and really showed off the talent that Christie possessed!

Definitely a read that kept surprising me.

This one was a little cheesy, but anything set in the editorial fashion world is always so fun and drama-filled!

Thanks to the author and publisher for the digital copy for review!

The premise of this book was really intriguing - a serial killer has set their sights on a college campus and we're thrown right into the action - and the characters were diverse and easy to root for.

Some of the writing did come across as a bit naive and more telling vs showing, and the big reveal didn't really do much for me, but I think a lot of readers new to the thriller genre will enjoy this YA murder mystery for its twists and turns and emotional punches!

Listening to this on audio was such a treat as Keke is skilled in the world of entertainment.

Inspiring, insightful, and a beautiful book that read more like a memoir than a self help book, which shows the talent that went into this all on its own.

Highly recommend picking this one up whether or not you're well-versed in Keke's professional and personal journeys!

Huge thanks to Libro.fm and Macmillan Audio for the ALC for review - out November 19!

Oops, it would appear that I’m reading these out of order 🙃

I really enjoyed this one! It reminded me a lot of Alicia’s LOVE IN THE TIME OF SERIAL KILLERS and was an overall, low stakes mystery with some nostalgia and romance thrown in!

I loved watching the story unfold and unravel in this book!

It gets very dark nearly right away, which I love to see, and Markert kept that going throughout with a mix of remembered memories, kidnapped kids, and culty groups.

Another great read from J.H. Markert!

Thanks to Libro.fm and Random House Audio for the ALC of this one - out November 12, 2024!

This is an audio original, which means that a lot of thought was put into the recording - the various characters and music cues made for this short to be a very fun read!

It was really predictable for me (hence the rating), but the dramatization had me gasping out loud, rolling my eyes, etc. which was exceptionally entertaining!

Bruh. The disappointment.

A combination of the childlike qualities of the robots and the oversexualization of everything made this one really hard for me to get through.

As much as I wanted to love this little robot family, this one was not for me!
