The Iranian Gift stands out for being a book that does a completely opposite thing - an Middle East nation attacking a developed European one, and that too England. David Yaron weaves a story that grows in suspense page by page, keeping the reader hooked on the edge. Not a single moment goes without anticipating the real motives of Major General Safawi and Lt Colonel Kabadi. The tight-knit style of Kabadi preparing for the mission is what kept me glued to the book. The first half of the book goes on in preparing for the mission and the latter half is about executing it. I really liked the suspense the book had till the end, alongside some tense situation building and good dialogues. Somewhere, I wish the book had cut on more technicalities about planes and rather focus on increasing action in the story, that was somehow a bit low.

Nevertheless, the book was an amazing read for me and when I found what happened to London, I was just surprised. I will surely recommend this book for an amazing read of how Iran bought London to its knees.

Thank you NetGalley for the ARC.

“Everyone has a story to tell, Everyone is a writer. Some are written in the books, and some are confined to hearts.” – This line aptly showcases that everyone is a storywriter, it only depends on how you are gonna write your story.

The book has the lives of two people interwoven together, with other characters playing supporting role. Main characters are Meera, a budding writer in search of a story; Vivaan, an assistant branch manager at Citibank, who dreams of travelling the world. Other supporting characters are Kabir, a café manager who desires something of his own and Nisha, a disheartened café customer, who keeps secrets of her own.

My Review –

Main characters –

Savi Ma’am has beautifully written this book, mixing the lives of both main characters with perfection. Meera’s wish to write a book & Vivaan’s constant desire to travel the world are shown with much comfort.

One does feel a connection between the two main characters when they start talking. Meera finding inspiration from Vivaan for the book is just perfect. Vivaan’s journey around the world excites the reader very much & the reader feels like as if he/she is travelling too.
.
Now, talking about Kabir & Nisha –

Kabir is shown to be a simple guy with a dedication to his family. He desires something of his own. He wants to start a café of his own, as he told to Meera and Vivaan. He falls in love with Nisha, a sorrowful customer of Coffee and Us, the café where Kabir works.

Nisha is a grief-stricken customer who has a dark secret hidden – she had to abort the child she wanted to raise with her boyfriend – as her boyfriend left her.

She was so distressed about it when her spirits were lifted by Kabir. Afterwards, both Kabir & Nisha fell in love with each other and Kabir opens Kafe Kabir with Vivaan as a partner.
.
The story –
The story has some shares of sadness – when Vivaan goes for a World Tour with informing anyone, when Meera has an life – threatening accident, Vivaan tells Meera & others about her previous relationship with Radha and her death and, Nisha telling about abortion of her child.

But, these sadness moments are written beautifully, giving the reader a sense of optimism when he/she gets to know that the characters lifted themselves up.

The storyline, dialogue delivery are excellent. ❤

Overall, the book is a perfect read for the reader. You won’t get disappointed, I guarantee you ! ❤
