Was excited to get into this, as the premise is intriguing, but the instalust here at the beginning deflated my excitement.

Got 10% in and felt like nothing was really happening. Way too long and way too outdated, writing wise. I understand that this book was written/released in the 80s, but I hated how often f*g was used. Felt so inflammatory.

May possibly revisit at some point, we'll see....

Felt like a longer version of One Italian Summer, and I could pretend to care no longer!!!

Tried to give it a shot, because it started off fairly promising and had 4+ star ratings from mutuals, but wasn’t for me. From what I did read, the writing was repetitive and the MMC was barely grumpy but he started cracking for Ava, the FMC. Probably won’t revisit.

Will try again during the actual holidays…
