Super raw memoir, an inside look at being hospitalized with bipolar.

CW: alcoholism, sexual assault, body shaming, rape, brief mention of child molestation

I have so few words. This book is beautiful and raw and challenging and heartbreaking, but isn't that life as a woman? Read this one, especially if you are a fan of Good Talk by Mira Jacob.

How did it take me until 2020 to discover Raina's graphic novels? I love them all so far and this one is no exception. Pick this one up if you're looking for a laugh; I especially loved the re-discovery of the pet snake.

CW: chapter 11 discusses abusive relationships

This book is FUNNY. Every time I found myself relating to Gabi's stories about these guys, I felt totally called out and I loved it. The way the book is formatted is really fun; there are quizzes related to each type of guy which definitely gives off 2000s Seventeen magazine vibes. I also loved that the majority of the guys gave a reaction quote based on their story.

WOW. I do not even know what to say other than I could not put this book down.

CW: bullying, anxiety, mention of eating disorders

I think this might be my favorite of Raina's books so far. It was so nice to see someone, especially a 10-year-old, going to therapy.

I received a free ARC from Netgalley and the publisher in exchange for my honest review.

CW: graphic violence, attempted suicide

This book is super dark, both visually and in content. Ghosts, post-apocalypse, zombies, this book has it all. The illustrations, while a bit dark and depressing, are incredibly beautiful. I enjoyed seeing the friendships and personal growth throughout the book.

I loved the introduction so much that I had to stop reading my Kindle ARC and order a paperback copy so I could mark it up. So naturally, the book was sold out everywhere and I had to wait for my bookstore to get more copies, but this book was well worth the wait. Each essay has content notes listed at the beginning, so while some essays may be difficult to read for some folks, I would recommend the book overall since you could easily skip over those essays. As a chronically ill person, this type of representation was incredible and much-needed. I will be recommending this book for a very long time.

Middle school love stories are super cute and adorable and Raina is very good at writing them.

I swear, I am never listening to bookstagram again because I loved The Proposal and I loved Royal Holiday. This one is definitely a slower pace than Guillory's other books, but the slow pace was honestly perfect for me this week.
