There is a reason people are talking about this book. Buy it. Read it.

This is a GOOD book for those looking to broaden their knowledge on anti-racism. Each chapter focuses on a common question related to race and the whole book is very engaging. One thing I really like about this book is that, while it spoke about Black Americans, it also spoke about the struggles of other racial minorities in America. Whereas White Fragility was written for white folks, this book is written for all and I would definitely recommend it.
CW: homophobia
Love a coming out story. Love a happy ending.

How do I even review this?! Somehow this is the first of Acevedo's books that I have read, but it sure as heck won't be the last. This story is so engaging and I never wanted to put it down. Some familiarity of the Spanish language would be helpful to the reader as it is woven into the story.

It’s not that I didn’t like this book, but more so that I truly don’t know what I just read. The writing style was difficult for me to follow. I had high hopes for this one, since so many folks praised it, but it fell short for me.
