I received a free ALC from Netgalley and Macmillan Audio in exchange for my honest review.
I love a good, specific scenario Enneagram book and this one did not disappoint. It was interesting to see how the types interact at work and to see how those scenarios play out in my own work team.

I listened to Transgender History in its entirety while at work today and I felt such a rollercoaster of emotions while doing so.
While I knew some of the history discussed in the book, much of it was new to me. The format of the book was great in that I felt it discussed events in detail, but in a way that didn’t feel overwhelming.
This revised edition is a few years old and already felt a little dated. I hope it will be revised again in the future as I think so much has happened in the past few years that is worth discussing.
One thing that surprised me was the heavy use of the term transsexual. It is primarily used in the beginning of the book when discussing early trans history, but it was jarring at first to hear it used since it is such an outdated term.
Another thing that really stood out to me was the discussion of trans-exclusionary radical feminists, or TERFs. I believe this edition was written before much of J.K. Rowling’s beliefs were well-known, so I’d be curious if she would be mentioned in a later edition.

I picked up this book at a sidewalk sale at @downboundbooks a few months ago after overhearing other folks talking about it and my only regret is not reading it sooner.
I cannot describe this book to you because I don’t know any other book like it, but know that I laughed so hard I cried in part one, and my entire heart was shattered in part two.
