Very good kids book

Ive read everything by bechdel - and this compares nicely. I read it twice back to back

There was a lot at play which made nothing that important. I felt lost most of the book because the point was never very clear. Our protagonist is underdeveloped and feels like a reader self insert and the other characters didnt make sense to me. I think this book would work for a lot of people - i am just not one of them. I wanted to like this book and the logic of the world was compelling enough for me to keep reading but in the end i just couldnt care enough to finish it. I wasnt even sure what the tension in the book was supposed to be. Also the love interest felt very very forced. A read for a different kind of reader.
