I was hooked from the beginning! I didn't think I would love this as much as I did. It seemed like this would be like every other fantasy, prince steals girl story but all of the little things really defined it and made it stand out for me. This stood out to me as a war-time Beauty and the Beast retelling and I loved every second of it. The way the Emberfall citizens rallied to support Rhen & Harper made me cry on multiple occasions😂

I loved everything about this book! The gothic vibes, the murder mystery, the ghosts, Death himself! I'm already diving into Foxglove. 

I was constantly questioning everyone and I was still shocked by that ending 😭 I can't believe that and the cliffhanger left me absolutely reeling! 

I enjoyed every character. Each person had a whole life, grievances, lost love, and emotion. There were no bland or half-asses characters here!

I loved all of the different characters! Everyone had their own quirky qualities, good and bad. The story is similar to multiple fairy tales, but unique in its own way that makes for an adventure like no other🖤  I went in expecting 2 POV max, and boy did I love getting multiple POVs from everyone! It made the story more intriguing and a faster pace. I can't wait for book 2!

I devoured this book!🖤 I love Kit and her determination even in her darkest moments. The beginning hooked me on how vividly the world is painted. I felt like I was in Rosemont, alongside Kit, going through all of the heartbreak, betrayals, and twisty turns with her. I never saw the twists that came towards the middle of the book, and it blew me away!! This is definitely a must read for someone who loves dark YA fantasy & paranormal🖤
