I really enjoyed this book! I loved Petra's "always look forward" attitude even when she wanted to dwell on things. The story and plot were great, and the romance was the sweetest. I was kicking my feet & giggling almost every time Gabriel said something.

My main reasons for not giving this 5☆ was how the dialogue was done. It was just weird to me and took until the time skip for me to really get into the book. Even in modern times, Petra talked like she lived in the 1400s and it just didn't vibe with me that she would have thoughts like she was talking to herself when the book is in first person. And the ending. I felt like it was supposed to be a cliffhanger but it didn't give that feeling of "wtf" or "okay next book now". It made me feel like it should of just went to the next chapter, not the next book.

Even with those 2 things, I really did devour this book. I mean, I read it in one sitting lol. It was an easy and entertaining read with medivial, supernatural/paranormal Outlander vibes.

My jaw was on the FLOOR by the end of this book. There's so much foreshadowing, but props to Reece because I didn't catch half of them until I got smacked with that twist👏🏻👏🏻

I love, love, love this book! I was instantly drawn in & hooked. It was the perfect mix of grumpy monster & take no shit fmc with a mystery hanging over everyone's heads. I enjoyed every character, and don't want to leave the small mountain town of Sutton! I can't wait for book 2🖤 I need to know about Kali & John asap👏🏻

I loved this book & can't wait for the next! I was sucked into RJ's life with the first paragraph and couldn't put it down!!

"It means I'm broken, and all I seem to do is cut people with my jagged edges until they feel the same pain I do, because I can't tell them why I am broken. So, they try to soothe all those jagged parts, but they don't know why I have them, and all they do is end up hurting themselves."

My younger self really resonated with RJ & I think that's why I love her so much. She puts all of the blame and guilt on herself when she shouldn't. Her glow-up was by far my favorite. She is so self-sacrificing and cares so deeply for all of the people she loves she would do anything to protect them.

"I will love you until I die or until my soul is ripped from my body. Until the end."

Sterling, Sterling, Sterling! We love a head over heels, watch the world burn, kill anyone & anything for you boyfriend! And that nickname?? "Rosehip" I love it!!

I'm so ready for book 2! I can't wait to see what happens with the mashed up fam💕

I was instantly hooked within the first page! I absolutely love this book, and I could reread it multiple times over. I can't wait to see what happens in the rest of the series💕

I loved this book so much!! I really enjoyed the banter between Cas & Elander. I liked the way that the author explained Cas' anxiety and using "anchors". Even if I didn't like it, I have to know what happens! Between Elander, Cas, what happens to Zev and the crew, just everyone!
