Late blooming half-werewolf from a long line of werewolves?? Sign me up! The art is gorgeous, the storytelling is both thoughtful and exciting, and it was so easy to fall in love with the characters! Sweet LGBTQ+ representation for middle grade readers and primarily Black and POC main characters! Stephens nailed this one, and I look forward to seeing more of her work!

This book is so important! The art is rendered in black and white with oranges and reds, but it’s amazing the impact a few colors can have on an entire graphic novel. Based on events the author experienced, himself, this book is both frightening and hopeful by its conclusion. DEFINITELY check for trigger and content warnings on StoryGraph. I personally found some of the content challenging to consume, even though it was important to the story and the time period.
