I listened to (and read alongside) a splendid public reading of the story organised the Uni of Oxford on Kafka's 100th death anniversary (3rd June 2024). From students, to professors, faculty members, writers and the ambassadors of Czech Republic and Germany, the readers made the experience of Gregor so much more lively! Paired with a visit to the Kafka: Making Of An Icon exhibition (also by the Uni of Oxford) over the weekend, this public reading has made a Kafka fan out of me!

this kept me engaged but I had an incredulous expression on my face the whole time.
a little too predictable, convenient, and improbable to be a five/four star read.
I do want to try out more books by the author though!
