Pretty funny and a light read. Finished it in less than a day

Just finished listening to the audiobook and honestly, I have not loved an audiobook so much in ages. Every single one of those narrators blew me away! They were all so breathtakingly amazing. What a phenomenal book.

The last line killed me, I was not expecting that. At all.

I just wish Daisy Jones and the Six was an actual band because all I want to do right now is listen to the Aurora album and cry.

I am so excited for the Amazon original series. We'll finally get to listen to the songs!!! Also how amazing is the casting? Sam Calfin as Billy Dunne? Yes please.

An absolutely fabulous book, with 13 beautiful, touching and evocative short stories. The stories are simple, emotion-driven tales about the Russian countryside and cities, and the lives people lead there. There is beautiful imagery and descriptions throughout the book, and the dialogues flow smoothly. Some of the original genius of Chekov might have been lost in translation, but the translator did a amazing job.

I love Jane Austen and I love Pride and Prejudice. So there is no surprise that I was excited to read a South-Asian P&P adaptation. Although it adheres to the basic Austen story structure, it maintains a remarkable commitment to its modern twist: immigrant Muslim families. It is a fresh and an unique story.

Though there is the occasional turn to clichés, Ayesha At Last succeeds at respecting and playfully recreating what makes Pride and Prejudice such a popular book.

The book closes with this sentence "Sometimes there were no words, only sunshine on your heart. Alhamdulilah." And I think it perfectly describes my thoughts about it.

The kingdom of Umbraz is ruled by an evil witch who fears and despises the sun. She has deemed the sun and all magical beings as evil, and has set out to destroy them, including Siria, the last sunchild - a nymph who can harness the powers of the sun and who might be the key to bringing the sun back to the kingdom.

On a whole I enjoyed the story, particularly the many magical beings and the fascinating lore surrounding them. I only wish that was explored further, I would have loved to know more about the mythology of this world.

I felt the characters lacked depth and weren't properly sketched out. I could not connect to and relate to any of the characters, especially the MC. Another thing that ticked me off was how the MC always conveniently fainted whenever some tension arises. This takes away from the adrenaline rush these type of scenes generally bring.

Some of the stories in this collection were really interesting and I enjoyed them thoroughly. But at the same time, some were really lack luster. Maybe it would have been a more captivating read had the collection been shorter.
