Paola Ramos investigative curiosity is in full display in this narrative. It is hard to understand many of the topics she touches, yet, after her explanations, it opens up my mind to understanding how we got here. I enjoy her lessons on social media (ironically, as she mentions is how many Hispanics get their news). But we need more voices like her talking to the people. I loved the book and it is my favorite book of my non-fiction reads for 2024.

I picked this book on a whim. I fell in love with the characters immediately. Their story progressing along the book they are writing is a fabulous way to bring a story to life. The banter between the two is humorous and well written and helps making the chapters go by fast.
The spice level is appropriate and a natural progression of their relationship.
Loved the Peruvian references as I know nothing of that culture.

Fast read, they get stranded, he's got a reputation. To convince her he's not that way, he goes along with her to do Christmas activities. This is a very quick, no frills novella that makes passing the time enjoyable. Although set in the hockey world, it is not at the core of this story. The spice is well done and a natural progression of the narrative.
