Bonded omega gets ousted from her bonded pack by a scent match and then experiences TRAUMA.
Overall reco: Overall, it was a read, not amazing and not so bad that I needed to lambast and pick apart every plot hole and issue. I picked it up because I saw a blurp on tiktok that made my heart hurt and was in the mood for some pain. It delivered pretty well on that, I was writhing right along with the FMC in the first whole section of the book. At under 200 pages it felt like a good length and an interesting read, nothing to rush off to write about but also not disappointing.

(The Good)
If you need a short little trauma book, this is pretty great. I really felt for Melody during the low parts of her story. It was easy to hate her first pack, easy to love her second. I was made at the world for Melody, which is kind of the point and overall I needed something to stab at my heart and this did it.
(The Bad)
It was short, and this moved quickly. Which isn't really that bad per say, but we still managed to fit in a (view spoiler) which is frustrating. It felt like there were no consequences for anything in the world, except for Melody and the other omegas. Which is guess was kind of the point I guess. The spice felt a little bland? My spice meter is kind of broken and this was probably more of a 2.5, but with multiple men I couldn't drop it lower. The erotica felt on par with the story, "OK"

NOTE: THIS IS BASED ON THE AUDIO BOOK
Nurse gets stalked by her favorite Tiktok Dancer.
Overall reco: I tried to read this in the spring and didn't make it past the first chapter, I don't think I was in the right headspace for it at the time because I found Aly really boring, which is rather hilarious. The audio book really exploded onto the scene in the last few months and I was interested to give it a shot after hearing some clips and wow. So Glad. The book was a riot. I had to pause and repeat bits because I was laughing, I kept wanting to listen to it and just could not stop.
I really with dual narration was done like this for all audio books. No matter the POV of the chapter, the Female narrator did her parts and the Male did his. It really made the book so, so much better and there was a lot of sarcasm and joking that BOTH VA's put into this that absolutely made the experience so much more.
Fair Warning: I listened to the trigger warning and felt it was a bit much. I can read a lot of twisted shit, but I'm also neurospicy. If you have any issues with the idea of CNC or stalking this will likely not be a fun time for you, even with the comedy. If you are the person who started Haunting Adeline and went "this is weird stalking and rape!" then this is not the book for you. If you read HA and thought that Z was dry and boring as fuck... Try Josh.

THRILLER! (plot)
We have a plot line! Like a real one and not just the day to day of a man doing questionable things in a ghost mask to an over tired nurse. I sort of guessed what was going to happen when Brad was introduced but I still HIGHLY enjoyed the ride. Even when a bit predictable, It took some twists I didn't expect and I liked that. This was a very great balance of plot and dirty, nasty smut. I also really loved the humor and vibe of the book, it never felt like it got to pretentious and felt like it was talking down to the reader.
Is Primal Play and CNC on you sheet too? (spice)
The smut was great. 5 stars. Why? Ah.. lots of scenes and while some happened off screen, it never felt like we were missing out because it was usually BIG BOOTY BLOWOUT and then a mention later of them being tired because after the BIG BOOTY BLOWOUT they had like another faster round later.
It felt like we were getting the prime rib and steak and they were just casually mentioning that hey also had a side of mashed potatoes. I felt almost exhausted as the characters at the end of some of the scene's, FFS.
Do I now read most male MMC's the way the Jacob Morgan reads Josh? (characters)
Yes. Brain Chemistry altered. Honestly both of the narrators were so good. This was a great and worthwhile purchase for me.
Josh is hilariously funny, an absolute hoot. I loved his chapters because of his absolutely altered way of thinking. He was constantly making me laugh and I think, in the end, that I just liked Josh's chapters. Even when he began to worry, they felt.. fun.
Aly's chapters felt lesser against his. Maybe I just prefer humor but I often felt bogged down in Aly's chapters with far to much introspections and over thinking.

The girl who nobody wants ends up with the prize bull of the town, but its more than just romance in this little town.. It's weird Appalachian shit.
Overall reco: I think it's a worth while read if you are into the Monster romance genre. I noticed 2 errors in the book that caused some confusion but it was great after that. Enjoyable and quick.

(The good)
I highly enjoyed the sass from both the FMC and MMC. They were prickly and gave as good as they got and there were some great lines and banter bits that had me kicking my feet with amusement. The plot was interesting, like.. it wasn't just 2 people who were fated mates and doing their best to get on each others nerves, there was shit going doing that was actually interesting. I guessed one of the plot reveals really early on, but that's fine. The world seemed interesting and I didn't struggle to get into it.
(The bad)
So, for a book about fucking a minotaur.. it had kind of low spice. I was expecting more scenes. Some of them were pretty hot but usually my monster fucker books are like 5/5 spice and this was just 3 because of lack of scenes.
The miscommunication trope of this book pissed me off. It's not the typical trope, where they just don't understand each other. Their communication was fine (and good!) it was how they fucking drip fed the FMC information. She's supposed to be here to save this fucking village and while I understand keeping some shit hush hush, she was kept in the dark purposefully about things that didn't need to be. Like maybe it was to not overwhelm the girl the stumbled into town, but they kept saying "you are taking this surprisingly calmly" and the author kept making a note to tell us how Molly felt like she was home. So you can tell her some SHIT my guys.
Another thing. Yeah the town is cursed but like..
It had an HEA but..
I DNF'd this book at 11%. I only got to 11% because I started skimming through the book.
I finished the first book and felt very meh about it, but I wanted to keep going, so I started it. I was about 2% before I started skimming pages because I felt absolutely no connection to the characters. Z felt like a child throwing a temper tantrum, every time he 'black out from rage' it felt so.. eh. I just couldn't connect to him either as a character I hated or loved. Like.. for example, I absolutely hated Sin from the LORDS series, but I still FELT something about him and I totally finished that book.
All the stuff with Addie felt meh as well.. like yeah she's in a bad world and yeah I know nothing about this world or how it runs but I found I just couldn't give a shit about her. She felt so empty and hollow as a character, nothing for me to hook into.
I was super disappointed in this series, considering this is supposed to be a 'pillar' of the Dark Romance books and so many recommended it.

I jumped into this book because it was and is all over social media as like a taboo/pillar of the dark romance community. And honestly, for me, so over hyped. I didn't have any issues with the subject mater and had a ton of issues with the characters. Addy was.. alright, she made dumb decisions but not the worst FMC. Z though. OMFG I could not STAND his fucking ego stroking. It felt like every other line in the book was how fucking great he was and how awesome of a dude he ways YET also how bad of a guy he was. Like what? He just came off as not this crazy same mastermind who was fighting a global traffic ring but as like a parody version of Draco fucking Malfoy (and I LIKE DRACO!)
In the end, I felt that it was written well, better than some other things I've read but I couldn't stand any of the characters by the end of the book.

It was interesting. The story, like the actual story, seemed interesting and the hints of world building were cool. The sex scenes came in fast and like without warning. I think this is the first erotica that I almost wished there wasn't sex because the world was interesting.

Two divorcees bong over mutual trauma via a dog walking service. Overall I thought this was cute. Got a nice does of my favorite character (BLAKE!). I've read better from these authors, this isn't bad but not the best. It was still highly enjoyable, just not blowing my mind kind story.
