I absolutely loved this book, I went in with high expectations and it exceeded them! I loved the characters and the mystery and how it all came together at the end. I was also proud of myself for figuring some mysteries out before it was revealed - this all added to my thorough enjoyment of the story!

Reread: Upon rereading this a couple years later I think this was more of a 4 star read as already knowing the mystery took a little bit of the suspense out of it, making it feel a lot more slow paced.

This book is so weird but also super interesting! I liked how it all came together at the end and as a Marine biologist I enjoyed the marine elements!
There are parts I'm not sure on the point of though which lowers my rating.

I did enjoy this, I was looking for a bit more spice after ACOTAR and this delivered. The plot and characters were a bit weak but enough to keep me interested. I don't think I'll pick up the sequel though.

This is a really fun and heart warming book! A very enjoyable read even if I found it a bit predictable at times.

I really liked this book. It felt to me the perfect feminist story of life as a woman and the expectations and assumptions people make about you every day. I would highly recommend anyone reads this! Only not rated 5 stars as it didn't really wow me but that's likely just because I'm already aware of the instances of sexism that are described in the book and so it didn't shock me

I really loved this book. Although it felt slow in places, the world building and plot were just on another level to anything I've read up to now!

I went into this expecting something a lot different from what I got.
Starting with the positives, the prose is amazing, I highly commend the authors writing ability and found the imagery to be so well described through the book. However, this book was not really for me, I went in expecting it to be from the main characters point of view but instead it was from the point of view of people in her life who had abused her in one way or another and treated her like a thing rather than a person. Two out of three of which are from men which I think makes the description of being about 'rebellion, eroticism and the female body' a bit misleading. The final section from the sisters point of view was the best I found but seemed to perpetuate the idea that all women are mentally ill. Throughout the book I found I wanted to know what the main character was feeling not what these people thought of her and so I was left wanting. Maybe this book is more impactful if you have an english degree and can really tease apart what the imagery means. However as I said the writing is really good so I may still read the authors other works.

I thought some of the decisions made by the main character were naive but she is a seventeen year old so maybe I'm just being mean! I only really got interested in the story by the end, the mystery was set up and revealed well but it was one where you couldn't of guessed it yourself and I'm not a big fan if that.

An enjoyable read, a great perspective on the trojan war. I understand why people love this book, Madeline Miller is an amazing writer, but I just didn't connect with the characters enough to give it a higher rating.
If I'm being honest, Achilles was so much of an awful human being by the end that I just couldn't feel sad for him or Patroclus, I just don't know why everyone cried over this.

I really enjoyed this audiobook, definitely not what I was expecting but a great story none the less! The story was exciting, it had romance, adventure, mystery - what more could you want? Also the voice actor was amazing!
