I think I enjoyed this just as much as Autumn, it's only getting a slightly lower rating as some of the symbolism went straight over my head (though maybe that says more about me than the book). Otherwise I grew to love the characters just as in the first instalment of thus series and the familial arguments about brexit were very relatable. I'm looking forward to reading Spring.

I binged this series on webtoon in 2 days and fell in love. The characters are just so good and individual that they all are interesting not just the main ones. The plot has me hooked and after these first 25 chapters I couldn't wait for more!

I really loved this story - the writing is great, the characters felt realistic and I was invested in them and the plot kept me interested throughout out. However, this felt very slow paced, maybe it's because you have to read a book within the book but it never really picked up in pace until the end. Overall I'd recommend reading it though!

Surprisingly impactful short story, I recommend it as it's worth the read. Makes me think more about my house plants!

I loved this, it's such a strong start to a series and I can't wait to read the sequel when it comes out! I had heard the first 100 pages were the worst bit and I'd say that was true, if you're thinking of giving up before this I'd say stick with it for a bit longer! I really enjoyed the mystery elements and some of the twists did catch me by surprise. It took me a little while to get invested in the romance but by the end I was hooked!

I loved this book so much, from start to finish, I was thoroughly invested in the plot and characters. So many things happened but it also didn't go so fast that I felt lost or confused on what was going on, to me the pace was exactly right. I liked the main character and felt her reactions were relatable. I also liked the romantic side plot we got too!

This little book is so good. The words are as beautiful as the illustrations. Highly recommend.

A fun little addition to the series, nothing super important happens but I appreciated some of the loose threads it ties up. This series is always easy and fun to read and this book was no different.

The subject matter of this book was what drew me into reading it and I'm glad I did. I think if you don't know much about this aspect of the world its a really important read and shows how unfair the world can be. However, the jumping back and forth in timelines and points of view made this a bit boring and difficult to read as it felt like the story was progressing at a snails pace even without all the flash backs. So that's why my rating is a little lower than it would be if this was not the case.

I'm so conflicted with this review, up until the end I was ready to give it 5 stars but I really didn't like the last twist and so I've settled at a 4.5. The description of nature in this book is gorgeous, if you love nature then those elements are definitely worth reading this book for! I felt like we knew the marsh almost as well as Kya did and her connection to the natural world around her was beautiful. The romance and emotional elements were also really well done and I almost cried a couple times. For a debut novel this is such an accomplishment and I'll definitely keep an eye out for Delia Owens future work! Now on to spoilers....
the last twist of her having killed Chase really ruined the book a bit for me. This revelation and that Kya was the poet all along really made me think we didn't know her at all which was sad as we had spent the whole book following her through her life and seeing the events that who made her who she was, only to be told we didn't know her at all.
