I'm going to preface this with: I'm not usually a big poetry consumer, though I have read some collections here and there. Poetry often goes over my head but I usually enjoy it anyway.
I really love Arlo Parks' music and so I wanted to give this a go. However, this one just wasn't for me. I struggled to keep interested in the poems and found them a bit disjointed. I basically only finished this because it was so short. Now I'm not saying the poems are bad, I'm just saying I really didn't connect to them. I think I might have enjoyed it more as an audiobook, which I may try in the future.

A great little insight into a time period which was passed over in the main books. I enjoyed seeing new of the focal relationship presented here. Definitely worth a read for fans of the series.

This book is phenomenal. It's like nothing I've ever read before, it had me hooked from the start and I ended up reading it so much faster than I thought I would. The themes and dynamics explored are extremely interesting and I felt like I learned a lot from how this author explored the situations presented. The narrative style is compelling and each character has a distinct voice throughout. For such a short book it has a massive impact. I'll definitely be checking out more of Akwaeke Emezi's work!

The premise of this book is amazing and I'll be going to listen to the songs it's based on soon. I was intrigued throughout and really enjoyed Yetu's character. I think the world Rivers Solomon has created here is so unique and fascinating and I'd love to learn more about all of it. But this is where my only complaint comes from, I did just want more. Within the number of pages given it works well, but I wish it had been longer so that some of the relationships could have developed more thoroughly and so there was more time to build up to some events. Overall a really worthwhile read though and I'll be picking up more of the authors work!

This book was really addictive. I read through it so quickly and was entertained the entire time. I knew the general premise going in but some parts still managed to surprise me. I did see the "big twist" coming but it was still enjoyable to read when it was revealed. This is my second TJR book and though neither has wowed me, both were still interesting reads.

I do really enjoy this series. I think the audiobook narrator is so well suited to it. This installment felt a bit different to the others but still highly enjoyable. I felt the end wrapped up a bit too easily but otherwise an interesting story.

I really enjoyed my first foray into Robin Hobbs books. I know it's not for everyone but I really enjoy a slow paced book which really emphasises character development and this book is exactly that. I was kept on my toes a lot and some plot twists really surprised me. I love Fitz and can't wait to see where the story takes him further in the series.

I love Becky Chambers. In every book I've earned by her, her character work is just incredible. From the outset I knew I was going to love these characters and was sad it was such a short book so I wouldn't get to spend much time with them. As a (marine) biologist I loved the focus on alien life forms in this book, I found it all super interesting and think it was handled as realistically as possible. I had to read the last couple pages a couple times for the ending and what it meant to really sink in. I highly recommend this book to any new or existing Becky Chambers fans.

This is a really cool collection of erasure poems, a type of poem I didn't know existed before discovering this book. As with all collections I liked some entries more than other but some of then really did hit hard and I thought were really clever. I would highly recommend!

I've been looking forward to starting the Death series for ages and this didn't disappoint. It's a really fun book and sets up the characters well. Death is an amazing character and I just want to read more of him so I'm looking forward to continuing the series.
