Damn I did not remember this being so tropey. I HATE TROPES. I really could have done without the cliques, girl hate, "I don't belong because I'm not pretty," creepy age gap, cringey ass villain ( who is NOT a love interest btw), and secretly in love with my best friend but never said a word nonsense.
Still love and enjoy the magic system though and because this is a reread for me I'm starting to remember all of the secrets that have yet to be revealed.
I know a lot of people dislike Alina (I don't disagree) but more specifically that she becomes so powerful so quickly and I don't mind that. This will still probably continue to be one of my favorite series simply because I love the Grishaverse as a whole

was not expecting to enjoy this book as much as I did. I got a copy of the audiobook from Libby and was blown away
Clap When You Land is the story of two sisters who only find out that the other exists after the death of their father. Both of them struggle not only with grief but also with the realization that their father was not the man they thought he was.
Told in dual perspectives, the audiobook is narrated by Elizabeth Acevedo as Yiahara and Melanie-Luisa Marte as Camino.
What I loved most about this story was the character growth and perseverance of these women and how raw and real the story is.
I highly recommend this book if you have not read it yet and I’m so excited that this is getting an adaptation because it is deserved.

Also I typically hate faces on covers but this is STUNNING
This was a highly anticipated read for me and I really enjoyed it. The differences between Clare and Irene's lives were interesting to see and while the scenes with Clare's husband are disturbing for obvious reasons - they made me laugh out loud.
I feel like bits of part 3 are left to the imagination. Was Clare having an affair with Irene's husband? How did Clare really die? I was not expecting Clare's death at all so it was an interesting twist. I figured her husband would eventually discover the truth

I loved this!
