I really liked this story but have to admit that I was a little annoyed with how each of the main characters got in their own way. I totally understand April's hesitation but you can't bring past baggage into new relationships and she never gave Marcus the chance to elaborate on the initial comment that caused her hesitation.
Marcus on the other hand continued to lie to April knowing that she had trust issues and yeah I get hat he had concerns but once they became official he have told her. It would have eliminated all of the conflict which to me felt unnecessary. 
But the chemistry between them was really great and I love them together

Not gonna lie, Samiah got on my nerves for the first half of the book. Daniel on the other hand I absolutely loved him...for the most part. 
The chemistry between the two of them was really good. And I love the representation of Black folks in tech.

I think Hook might be my favorite

This was definitely creepy and horrific. I really did not know what to expect

There are a lot of moving parts, a lot of characters, and the pacing is a little weird but the story itself was interesting. Some of the story felt unnecessarily graphic and felt that it was there for shock value but I will be watching the Netflix adaptation

Well damn. This is now tied for my favorite book read this year

This was my first time reading a cozy mystery and unfortunately this was not the one for me. I feel like this genre is typically predictable and whatnot so I had no problem with that. However, I really disliked the main character and the way that she was constantly overstepping boundaries and snapping at people who didn't deserve it. I also assume that some amateur sleuthing is to be expected as well but there were times where something was incredibly obvious and the characters are like "but what does it mean???"
I also did not believe the romance AT ALL  

I was enjoying this in the beginning but I have so many questions. I also didn't love the ending and I'm not sure where it's going.
I still love the world. Love the characters but I'm genuinely confused right now lol

This was pretty average for me as most of her work is. I will give her credit for writing characters that you can't help but hate and environments that just sound dirty

I have so many questions for book 2!

I didn't love the romance subplots or some of the tropes but the ending has me so excited
