I like this so much more than I expected to! I was genuinely shocked at some of the twists and turns and I love being surprised. Definitely recommend if you also like being surprised.
I've also watched the Netflix adaptation and it's completely different, didn't enjoy it as much

This was disappointing. Honestly Little Thieves could have been a standalone and that ending would have been fine. While I appreciate getting to see
Vanja and the prefect's relationship grow, she lost all progress that she made in book one and slipped right back into her old ways. While I understand that after being told you're unworthy and unwanted your whole life is hard t unlearn, the fact that she just continued to not listen to him or believe his actions was annoying as hell. Same with her family and friends. The ending of this book pissed me off the most because once again instead of communicating, she's jumping to conclusions and continuing to make dumbass decisions. I will not be continuing the series.

I actually really enjoyed this it was fun. Vanja annoyed the hell out of me sometimes but the ending was satisfying. I typically hate romance subplots in fantasies but I didn't mind it here and there were multiple. Excited to read the sequel

I think the combination of the authorial voice and how irritated I was with Tristan's grandfather I just couldn't do it.

Highly recommend if you enjoyed A Princess in Theory by Alyssa Cole. This is like that but better!

I love Dafari! He is complete perfection. However,
Ebony really annoyed me at times with the whole "I've done something bad and no one can know, therefore I can't ever let anyone close to me" attitude. Especially because after she told him, Dafari was determined to help her.
I knew there was something shady about Tori but damn that was a hell of a bomb to drop and then 10 pages later she drops the bomb about Jay - which I did NOT see coming!
The second that Dafari was asked to name a successor, I knew Enu couldn't be trusted.
Another thing that annoyed me was Ebony going along with Enu's plan because they way that it happened was just too risky because he could have killed Dafari at any moment. Also Baas is clearly a badass so she should have made a deal with Enu and then told Baas to keep an eye on him. They would have been able to save him sooner. Speaking of Baas I would LOVE if he and Shaya got a spinoff!

I absolutely LOVE Matteo
that man is so emotionally intelligent and patient and while I'm glad this is an HEA, Akira irritated the fuck out of me. Her grief is absolutely valid and I understand that but it was unfair of her to treat him like a yo-yo for so long

This was disappointing. Everyone hyped this book up so much but it's nothing special. I will say though that the reveal of
who died was good in the sense that it's the person you want it to be - love a revenge plot. Otherwise the overarching theme of "boys will be boys" and men in their 30s acting immature on purpose was just gross.

I have to admit that while I was so excited for this ending I am left feeling disappointed.

Efiya didn't deserve a second chance and I don't think she should have been given one. I knew that Arrah was going to die and while I am glad that she also gets another chance,
the last chapter and epilogue kind of pissed me off.
The character that I ended up liking the most is Rudjek so his last chapter being
able to since Arrah and then not seeing them reunite really irritated me. Yes I am glad that Arrah's father and grandmother are back but the lead up with Rudjek was unnecessary then.

I liked this but the entire theme of the book was "this can be fixed with communication"
That being said, it was cute. I love Daniel.
I suggest taking a shot every time Preeti says any iteration of "oh my god"
