Elementary, She Read was an enjoyable read even if I did find the main character a bit insufferable at times. I listened to this one on audiobook and it took me a good 30 min for the book to really capture my interest. I almost didn't continue but I am glad that I did. I'll be checking out the other books in the series.
I do wish that the bookshop and tea room were real though because I would love to visit!

I listened to the audiobook and the narrator did a fantastic job.
Blake Crouch has won me over with this book. I will definitely be reading more of his work. It's a bit hard to review this book because you move beyond the synopsis VERY quickly. The first thing that stood out to me was that this is written in the first-person present tense which I don't normally like. And it did take me a while to get used to it but once I did I realized I was glad the author made that choice. It really did feel like I was experiencing the events along with the main character.
There are a few "twists" in the book. The first I saw coming but the second one surprised me.
Highly recommend for sci-fi fans.
Content Warning: There are two sex scenes that were pretty easy for me to skip. There's some language but I don't remember it being too bad.

This was a fun turn your brain off cozy mystery. Though I really could have done without all the references to the main character's womb. It's definitely dated, but for the most part, I enjoyed it.
