This book is more like 4.75. I rounded up.
WELL HOLY SHIT BALLS this book was good. It was real good. And I feel like I disagree with a lot of the people who think this is just another love triangle gone wrong kind of thing. This book has some of the MOST AMAZING world building I’ve ever seen, and maybe that’s because I was obsessed with astrology for a really really long time. It did take me awhile to get through this book, but it was so worth it.
I needed to finish a book and I’m so glad I finally committed to this one. The ending was crazy, and despite some weird awkward lines when it came to love, there was also some amazing parts as well. I love Rho’s movement in the book, and after that ending, I can’t wait to see what’s next. OBSESSED.

Missing someone you’ve never met is really hard when they put your thoughts and feelings into words.

Holy wow. This series continuously blows me away and surprises me when I feel like that's very hard to do. I read the first in the series in 2016, and listened to the audiobook while I worked and it was SO GOOD that I asked for more work. In most series, I really love the first book because I love world building, the second is usually meh, and the third (the grand finale) just completely blows my mind.
In this book we come back to Marguerite and Paul and Theo, our favorite triad of people that we met in the original book, "A Thousand Skies Above You" except clearly these three can never rest easy. Because TRIAD industries is still on the hunt for Firebird technology.
We jump back into different dimensions in this one, many new and a few familiar. I can't get over how lovely Claudia Gray's writing is. It's clearly a YA book, and there is a love triangle, but it feels like so much more than that. I find myself so invested in all three of these characters, wanting them all to find their bliss and figure things out. I find the rich details of every single dimension amazing, and because they're all so unique and different they all stand out uniquely in my mind. I have a hard time finding an author who creates such an intricate world but that also makes it so memorable until I found Claudia Gray.
The Firebird trilogy (at least so far) has really blown my mind and surpassed all expectations and I would highly recommend the audiobook. The narrator does a great job of bringing us into Gray's worlds and keeping us guessing as the next big reveal comes. I can't recommend these books enough.
