This book had me on the edge of my seat.
Lieterally.
Sadly, most of the time it was because I was (mentally) yelling at the characters for being so stupid. I mean - really Heph? You're slinking back to Cynane? I thought you were better than that. And Kat, get over Jacob. He's obsessed with you in a totally unhealthy way.
Moreover, Jacob's POVs are hands down the worst parts of the book. They're the reason this is getting a 4/5. (I would give it a 3.5/5, but that's not an option.) He is a weak and, in my opinion, creepy character. His obsession with Kat is no longer about love - it's getting way out of hand.
In the book's defense, the writing is wonderful. This was a book I could easily devour in a couple hours. I just wish the characters weren't so stupid and oblivious.
