I got this book as a gift, and I'd say I'm probably not the target audience. I've not read any of Evaristo's other books yet, and so I didn't really find it that engaging. However, it was highly readable and it was interesting to get an insight into what life was like in the 60s/70s/80s.

Well I thought I knew quite a bit about trees and forests, but it turns out I certainly did not! This was really engaging and easy to read. The organisation of the book felt a bit haphazard, jumping around from idea to idea in a stream-of-consciousness kind of way. This made it a bit difficult to absorb everything (I recommend reading in small doses), but it was nevertheless extremely fascinating. I think the translation has rendered some of the language a little odd, but not enough to detract from the reading experience. There's quite a lot of personification which I know isn't everyone's cup of tea, but I think it can really help in understanding and taking to heart the message of the book.

Only the second graphic novel I've read. Finished in one sitting and thoroughly enjoyed it.

Beautiful illustrations and I love the format of non-fiction in poetry.

Gives a great overview of prehistory, history and our current situation. Really thought-provoking, loads of interesting ideas to mull over. Also very readable, one of the most engaging non-fiction books I've read.

This is one of those books that requires a bit more effort from the reader, which I just don't have at the moment. I'm sure it deserves it though, and I will probably come back to it another time.

This was an enjoyable read, I liked the little bits of real information, they were weaved into the story really well so that it was both fun and informative.
