When I think of a perfect graphic novel, this cute series, Garlic and the Vampire and Garlic and the Witch, truly are it. Vivid images, a unique plot, and the most lovable characters you’ll ever meet. 

This book was a wild ride from beginning to end. All of what I’ve ever known about Dracula’s brides is very minimal but I heard this was sapphic and that the prose was beautiful and it did not disappoint. S.T. Gibson wrote something truly spectacular and I think this story might not be everyone’s cup of tea but I enjoyed it. 

Finding out that this originally was where the series ended was WILD! I finished this book ready to find out what happens next. I loved how this book allowed Warner and Juliette to truly find each other and ugh there were so many moments of me just giggling and also emotional because I love these two so much. I felt like the ending was rushed and that’s the only reason I rated it less than 5 stars because otherwise it was AMAZING. 

YEP I understand why this series is a hit. Book 1 was great but once I read the Destroy Me novella, I knew things were about to get going and book 2 did not disappoint. I love the way Mafi allows us to understand the complexities of Juliette and how she experiences the world after so much time in isolation. Juliette is a MC who has simply been through shit and yet she has to overcome it and grow to help others and ultimately is figuring out who she is and is forced to find her strength and overcome her past. And Warner… yeah I’m ready for the next book and can’t wait to see what happens next. 

I totally know WHY this novella is important and needed for the series and plot, but ooof it was a lot being stuck in Adam’s head even if it was less than 70 pages. I think it helped with understanding his perspective and how he feels about Juliette but all I could think about was getting back to my girl.

I just love this book with all my heart and this reread post watching Season 1 was so enjoyable. I tried not to nitpick the differences made in the show and truly loved a lot of the changes made and love that I can still enjoy the original book.
