It took me a bit to really get into the storyline as its not my usual genre pick & I had to persevere for a good chunk of the book. It wasn’t terrible, it just struggled to hold my interest. It did get better towards the end. I was definitely drawn to it’s beautiful cover design & therefore wanted to give it a go.

I so wanted to love this book because I loved the cover but I just couldn’t get into it & ended up putting it back down. Stories written from another time often don’t flow for me & unfortunately that was the case with this one...

Wow. What an incredible book. The imagery, the specifics.... the stories contained within the stories. At times I felt so lost, I felt a disconnection between things but then it sort of came back together. The sheer amount of detail often made things hard to retain & while I am astounded at the writers beautifully concocted descriptions, it did make the book hard to follow at times. Either way, I highly recommend this book, it was really something else. You’ll either love it or hate it but at least try it.
My favourite part was the story of the moon, closely followed by the line “...no story ever truly ends as long as it is told.”

I really enjoy Richell’s novels. This one was no exception. Well, apart from the characters, I had some VERY strong feelings about a character or two in this one, but I won’t give anything away.
The storyline was engaging, entertaining & I loved how the author chose to weave the characters together. Overall, a really great read!

This book flows so well & was very easy to read. It’s the type of book you could knock over in an afternoon, if you had an afternoon...
But, here’s my actual review on the plot line of the novel. It’s not so positive.
I found the weak, selfish characters so infuriating in this story. I don’t know why I find personalities in books affect me so much (maybe it’s a control thing

Books like this always make me bit uncomfortable! I think it’s the addition of the kids to the storyline. I just kind of hold the book at arms length with a conflicting curiosity. This was good though in that it was what I would describe as a thrilling & suspenseful story without becoming terrifying. Took a bit to hook me but the second half of the book got me enough that I was keen to find out what was going on & as the story unfolded, I wasn’t disappointed.

What did I just read?

This book started out fairly tame. Then it kind of flipped on the crazy. For real. Which was disappointing. I actually feel like the path this book went down took away from its potential.

I read it in one sitting though & the ending was a wild ride.
