Adult and YA romance would both be better off if the New Adult category would finally happen. And this fun/flirty, campy/catty, drama-filled summer dance show in the Catskills would be better off being re-edited as new adult.
I still wouldn't love it, but I think it would make more sense overall. And while this theoretical re-editing is taking plans, maybe the way the one trans character is betrayed and abused to establish a MMCs backstory and redemption arc could be corrected. Because yuck.
Other than that, it's a fun, probably forgettable summer read.

Probably the worst one in this series for me to randomly pick up for a listen. I might've given it a 3.0 if I had liked the narration. Eh. Probably not. I don't love sports romance, poor little rich girls, insta-love, possessiveness...

The narration reallllly isn't working for me but the story has me hooked, so I'm switching to the ebook at 25%. The way the narrator voices some of the male characters in particular makes me feel like I'm listening to over-caffeinated MG/YA anime rather than the adult sci-fi/mystery/romcom I expected. I've listened to other books by this narrator without these issues, so it's just the choices being made here that don't work for me. YMMV
