i found out about this book through an episode of Cake Boss. i didn't read this one cover to cover, but i did read it and it was scary, i never knew there where so many killer plants out there till after this book, i am already super cautious when i'm outside, but this book made me aware of what is out there i'm glad for that. its even scarier that most live in our own back yards, or worse some we eat!
I picked this up at the library at a quick glance read the back and thought it would be a good read, and it was. It was interesting hearing about what goes on in a morgue, and I'v always thought it would be kind of cool to work in a morgue myself. She does talk about her home life a little, but the book goes over the course of a year.
I thought it was a good enjoyable read.

I got this book at the library last week. I saw this sitting in the new section, and I feel like the book was calling my name. Yes it was already in my to-read list, but it was sort of in the back of my mind. But once I saw this book knew I had to read it at that moment. I did get a stack of other books as well, and read one before this, but when I did read this, it sucked me in. I didn't expect to finish this in a day, I was expecting two to three at least, but I didn't. I will be reading this again, and actually buy it someday.
I was reading each lesson, and not every one I could think of a way to apply to me at the moment. I finished it right before heading off to bed, so I was able to sleep on it. I woke up and here I am no writing my review. I think now, that even though not all the rules apply to me at the moment, they will someday. Like Lesson 36 "Growing Old Beats the Alternative. Dying Young Looks Good Only in Movies." She gives a list of things to do when you 50 and appreciate the age and have fun and to really live life, appreciate the old life. I am far from 50, but when it comes around I will be ready.
This is a very quick, fun, and inspiring read. This book is a great book, and I think everyone should read it, weather your Christian or not.
3 1/2 stars
I like how the book was written, which is like a comic book. I got this free from member giveaways on librarything. This book is filled with action, and a wonderful story. I must warn you there is lots of violence and language. But in all its a great fun, action book about a now so normal superhero.

this is the first book i've read by Anne Lamott and i really liked it. she writes with great faith, spirit and humor, of life and death, forgiveness and hope. i really enjoyed this. give it a shot if you like Christian/faith books or just want a good laugh as well.
i kind of knew i would love this book from the start, i love monkeys. after being in a serious car accident leaving him paralyzed ned sullivan is physically weak but strong in heart and mind. he fights through all the doctors and therapies, but what comes next? a little miracle that will change his life forever. "Kasey to the Rescue: The Remarkable Story of a Monkey and a Miracle" is a wonderful story, filled with hope, courage, laughter, sadness and joy. i recommend it for all.
A story of a man and his family living in New Orleans. Hurricane Katrina hits, Zeitoun's wife and children leave, while he stays behind to clean up and rescue people. He is captured and tried and thrown in jail accusing him of crimes because of his Syrian and Muslim decent. After weeks of torture he is freed.
A great true story, a read for anyone who wants to know the back stories we don't always seem to hear about. You might cry i know i did, and talk some sense into some of the people for locking up innocent people and thats a good thing. Eggers did and excellent job.Lets all remember that were all human and help each other in time of need not judge them and lock them up for nothing.

i enjoyed this, it was disturbing at times, but it was a good book. Hailey's family and life are falling apart and she wants to save it all. She and her brother Cyrus meet up with Moses a man who wants to start a drive-through church and friend of Cyrus's. Hailey has her own problems along with her parents. After ending up in the hospital for a few days, she is released and tries once more to free herself from the chaos around her.
warning this book does have some graphic scenes in it. and the main character being a teenage girl.

this is the first Chase Dagger mystery i have read, it was a decent read.but it think i would of enjoyed it more if i would of read the other four in the series first.it was a good mix of fantasy,mystery,sci-fi, and paranormal which i like, so i probably will read the others in this series someday, and that might change my mind about this book.
ok i have to write this all over i hit the wrong button and it deleted all that i wrote already!!!!!!
i thought i would like this more but im giving it a two and a half stars. The beginning of the book was wonderful but it dragged out from there.
I liked the back story of it, but i didn't like it was much as i thought i would. I haven't seen the broadway play yet, but I think I would like it better than this book. One of my friends was excited when she heard I wanted to read "Wicked" I was too. I'm not sure about Maguire's other works but I hope there better than this.
