Lo put her heart and soul into this book! Such a good sapphic romance set in the 1950's about space and astronomy.

I received a copy for review from the publisher via Net Galley. All opinions are my own.

Contemplating the rating for this because it did end very quickly but the messages of transness with Bebe's character were awesome. The author does a great job to show how Bebe's transition affects her emotionally and mentally. As a trans person, I resonated with a lot of her feelings of her transition affecting her whole family and not just her. Also, her parents are very overprotective of her and the blatant transphobia she experiences but explains how exhausting it is to always respond or react to it. This was excellent and I loved the sapphic romance, I just wanted more tbh! I wish it was longer. I love seeing any story that focuses on queer, trans, and/or non-binary people in sports and falling in love. Quick and impactful read about childhood friendship and trans joy.

I love Nick and Charlie's characters so much. I cried near the end of Nick's coming out to his mom and I loved seeing a sapphic couple and a trans girl side character having her own romance. Can't wait to continue!

A very wholesome book that teaches kids about the LGBTQ+ community, the history of Pride and set at London Pride for the 2nd half of the book. I appreciated the inclusion of a non-binary adult character! As well as the cake metaphor and Oscar's character. Very well written for kids. I believe they will love Archie! He was written very much like a 12-yo child and I loved the epistolary format and that we got to read in the mind of Archie.

Loved the anxiety rep and sports

I loved seeing the perspective of the stage crew and "backstagers" as the focus is usually on the leads when it comes to theatre stories. The illustrations are amazing. I love the cosmic details and all of the features of the backstage world. Plus, the pink and black palette works really well. Going to read vol 2 asap because vol 1 leaves you on a cliffhanger!
