this broke my heart in so many ways. rowan’s story is important and i’m so glad i got to read it.
this was difficult to read at times, if only because some of the themes hit very close to home. it’s tough, but i did enjoy reading it and the message ultimately felt like one of hope.
the last line of the authors forward was a bit of a gut punch and i’ll be taking that to heart as much as possible.

i had no idea this book was written in verse when i picked it up, but i absolutely love that it is.
this was such a fun, quick little read. the entire time felt like i was listening to a friend recite their life story as i rooted and championed from the side.
very fun read. will absolutely read it again.

this is a fantastic read. i cried several times and by the end, i was so proud of felix i felt like he was my own best friend.
i don’t know what else to say, but i love this book very much and it feels like such an important story that i hope as many people as possible read.
will absolutely be reading this one over and over again.

i’ll be honest, i didn’t think i was going to enjoy this as much as i did. maybe it’s because i related to eleanor way more than i care to think about, but i did enjoy this.
i cried, i laughed out loud and i cringed. it isn’t perfect, but it was a very relatable, touching story and i’m glad i read it.

3.5, but i rounded up.
i enjoyed this for the most part, but it was a lot heavier than the synopsis led me to believe it was gonna be! it deals with a lot of important, sensitive topics trans individuals face on a daily basis and i applaud that, SO MUCH. just, be aware. i was expecting it to be a hell of a lot lighter.
i had a bit of a hard time connecting with georgia (her stories really got on my nerves at times) at first, but she got better.
i also didn’t care much for the way pony’s dad went from being pretty awful to completely on board overnight (although i guess a near death experience would be enough to change a lot of people). it just felt a bit rushed toward the end for me
that said, i still cried about four times and i loved pony with my entire heart. it was wonderful to read a story from his perspective and it had a lot of good teaching moments.
definitely an enjoyable read!

i knew from this first chapter this was gonna hurt me. but, OH BOY did i underestimate how much.
it took me a minute to adjust to the first person narrative, but i’m glad i kept with it because this was a beautiful story. i cried pretty much the entire time, but i rooted for girffin with my entire heart. definitely will read this one again when i’m less fragile.

this was a SUPER fun read. it took me a bit to really get into it, but by the middle i was all in. i laughed out loud a lot, and nicky is so dumb i love him with my whole heart.
also, i love those books where you’re all confident you’ve got it figured out and one thing changes EVERYTHING and you realize you were close but not there. i literally gasped and said “no!” out loud at one point when i finally had that revelation.
definitely one i’ll read again.

this was a cute, quick read.
i thought i would enjoy it a lot more than i did, but i still had fun reading it and would probably recommend it if asked. i did think the ending was a bit rushed, though.

this was so weird, but in such a good way. it was super heartfelt and i found myself identifying with jude just as much as i did noah, and rooting my head off for them both.
i liked this a lot more than i thought i would, and will definitely read it again.
