This was a really enjoyable read. It took a little while for me to wrap my head around the logistics of the time travelling, but once I did I was fully committed to this one.

The actual world building is done really well - you’re slowly introduced to aspects of this future world very naturally. This helped give you more brain power to think about the whole time travelling glitch thing.

Nev was a fairly likeable character, particularly by the end of the book. And I loved Aierin. The way their relationship worked was so wonderful (and heartbreaking). I was rooting for them and would have liked to see a little more of their relationship.

The ending was so sudden and abrupt. It was a brilliant ending in a way, but I felt it needed a little more context to really make it clear what had happened. I also wanted to know what the effect was - did everyone remember what had happened in the last month? It left me feeling like the story was unfinished.

All in all, a fun queer sci-fi set in a future which doesn’t feel too unobtainable.

This was a super interesting exploration of what life is like for black people in China. There was so much I just didn’t know about!

I enjoyed how personal observation was mixed in with first hand accounts from interviews, often with facts and statistics then used to either back these claims up or challenge them. It added personality to this non-fiction, a genre that can feel a little dry.

There were lots of interesting people interviewed throughout this and many I’d love to know more about!

Enlightening; this book really draws attention to the experiences of black people in China. It explores the racism prevalent in both sides and Saro-Wiwa uses her own experiences and observations to cut through this and provide a more balanced point of view.

Really interesting and definitely worth a read. Thank you Canongate for the advance copy in return for an honest review.

This was an interesting and original book, with an ending that did blow me away. But I left the book kind of feeling like not much had happened.

This is a fun, queer fantasy that keeps you guessing. I loved the characters and their banter. At times it was a little slow, but these moments were usually important to flesh out characters and relationships. All in all, it was a brilliant, original fantasy.

I enjoyed seeing more of Molly and her development. This was a super interesting follow up and I’m curious to see where this may go in the future.

This was an original idea for a crime thriller. It keeps you guessing and has plenty of twists throughout. Was great as an audiobook.
