Don’t be put off by a 3 star - this was good.
The sapphic yearning is fun. But for such a short book, you don’t really get as much yearning as I’d like.
The pacing was… interesting. It was slow and steady, then moved at a million miles an hour. The ending was so rushed. I’d have loved to see this as a full length novel - would have been fantastic.
But, all in all really fun little read. Stands the test of time!

This is everything my lesbian heart needed. I feel seen and loved and empowered. This is funny and all too relatable.
Absolutely phenomenal book. It’s one I’ll pick up again for sure.

I was so so loving this, but the end just felt like it moved at 100 miles a minute! It felt over s little too quickly for me. But with a series as good as this one it is held to a slightly higher standard.
slow-paced
This felt like Big L literature. It feels profound as you’re reading, it’s deep and in some ways even magical.
I really enjoyed reading this. It’s not a book you can zoom through though. It requires you to sit with it and really take your time.
There were times I was frustrated. I wanted it to be more in your face and more celebratory of queer lives. But the ending fits so perfectly I forgave the book. And there was clearly so much thought and research put into it.
This is a really fabulous book, queer historical fiction rooted in truth. It doesn’t seek to rewrite history, instead it paints a picture of what life would have been like for queer people at this time.

This series is bonkers and I love it.
Love the take it has on mythology. So original and so so fun
