 was i super confused for the first few chapters? yes
did i push through and thoroughly enjoy the rest of the book?!?!?!? yes!!!!

this is just a great adventure romantasy with a KILLER ending. i think carissa's books just keep getting better and better in my opinion (which reminds me i really need to finish daughter of no worlds...)

pros:
- i really like mische. i do think the author relies on your knowledge of mische from the previous books quite a bit, like in terms of getting you to care about her, but i'm cool with that. by the end, i really loved mische and wanted the best for her
- it was hard to be an asar fan at first because i didn't feel like he contributed that much, but as soon as he hit me with "touch her and die" vibes, i was all in
- LUCE IS THE GOODEST GIRL. I LOVE LUCE. (a dog)
- that ENDING!!!

i can't believe this ended with her dying, but honestly, love that because now they get to adventure the underworld together next book!!! ahhh give it to me now

 cons:
- i hate that i have to wait for book 2!!!!!! 

 this was not a h8, just not my vibe
helicopter mom stressed me out
teenage drinking as a plot point was interesting
overall did not care about, like, any of the characters

pros
- audio was good, i think it helped the flow for me and helped keep me engaged
- i do think the plot points were interesting enough for me to continue reading

cons
- the ending

i felt like jude had no real closure with mia. jude was absolutely psycho so how did she go from psycho to, i will let lexi into grace's life and end up with my son. idk

 i want to try other kristin hannah but def also am open to accepting that kristin hannah's genre is not for me
