The library didn't have the audiobook for the rest of the series, so I was able to get the hardcover versions of Through the Ever Night and Into the Still Blue by Veronica Rossi.
Likes:
This book was definitely better than the first. There was still some build-up to the next book, but it was interesting enough on its own.
Aria has gotten smarter and stronger, I really enjoyed her growth from the first book.
Soren got a better wrap in this book, still snarky, but not as awful as he seemed in the first book.
I really enjoy Cinder's character and feel he is going to be a pivotal role in the final book. He is so sweet and so is Willow's crush on him.
Gripes:
I mentioned this already, but the middle book, like the first, needs the final book for completion. I know that a trilogy signifies that there is a continuation to the story, but I enjoy when each book stands on his own.
The world-building has some holes. I would assume that there is a vast amount of space in-between the territories, but they seem to be able to walk significant mileage quickly. Unrealistic.
Along with the travel issues, I wish that there was some more description on the pods. I have a really hard time imagining what the pods.

Into the Still Blue is the final book in the Under the Never Sky series by Veronica Rossi. This was definitely the best book in the series, which hasn’t happened in a lot of trilogies lately. I had high expectations because I had read numerous rave reviews. Gladly, I was not disappointed.
Likes:
Aria once again grew in strength and skill in this book. She, unlike other fellow dwellers, got rid of the discrimination against the outsiders and moved to make life best for all of them.
Aria is forced to make a sacrifice and comes through with flying colors. I was almost expecting a whining session, but she did the mature, correct thing in the situation and I really liked that Veronica choose that path for Aria.
I cannot imagine how hard it would be to live in a cave and not really be able to go outside, I thought the description of the cave and life in the cave was really interesting!
There was a lot of action in this book as Aria, Perry and others take on Hess and Sable to try to secure Cinder and a way to get the Tides into the Still Blue.
I really liked the way that the series wrapped up. Unlike other series that have dwindled in the second and third book, I would have to say this series got better.
Gripes:
The world-building got better in this book, but that definitely was not a strong suit for this series. I wanted to visualize more on the dweller ships and the Still Blue.

Tiger Lily by Jodi Lynn Anderson is a re-telling of Tiger Lily from Peter Pan. I love retellings so much and Tinker Bell is my favorite Disney character, so I could not wait to read this book. I found the audiobook at the library, it was read by Cassandra Morris and was 7 hours, 15 minutes long. The story was book, I enjoyed it but it didn’t resonate as a book I would hold a close place in my heart.

I have always loved Neverland and this story really brought a whole new Neverland to life. Along with Peter, the Lost Boys and the pirates on the island, there are also tribes.
Tiger Lily was a fierce character. I haven’t wanted the movie for a while, but she seems so meek. In the story Tiger Lily is strong, independent and doesn’t care what people think of her. She is also dedicated to being loyal to her adopted father and still trying to be a good person within her tribe.
I liked Peter, he was mymstical, but still struggling with growing up or staying a child. He was responsible for the Lost Boys and you could see that wears on him.
Wendy wasn’t the heronie in this story. I have always loved her in the movie, but her character took on a completely different role.
Tinker Bell narrated the story which gave a unique spin.
The writing was well done, there were some amazing metiphors and quotes.
Gripes:
The plot was a little ho-hum. I didn’t really get excited about the book until the last ¼ when things started to pick up. It was a little dry in the beginning.
The ending was not what I expected, not that it made the book bad, but it definitely was different that the typical “Disney” ending you are expecting.
With Tinker Bell narrating the story, she was switching POVs and sometimes I got confused that Tink was talking about herself rather than Tiger Lily. I had to change my focus when Tink started to narrate for herself.
Quotes:
"A fairy heart is different from a human heart. Human hearts are elastic, they have room for all sorts of passion, and they can break, and heal, and love again and again. Fairy hearts are evolutionarily less sophisticated. They are small and hard like tiny grains of sand. Our hearts are too small to love more than I person in a lifetime."

The description for Essence by A.L. Waddington had me so intriguing. Time travel or paranormal mysticism, our souls wandering? I am SO in! I really enjoyed the story actually found myself drawn more to Jocelyn in the 1800s than current day, but it was neat to get a historical and modern story at the same time.
Likes:
The story was very original. I have never read anything like this and it really kept me intrigued until the very end. It was a quick, fast read that kept you turning the pages.
The author did an excellent job with the story, I enjoyed the writing and the plot.
I really liked both Jocelyn and Jackson in both eras, they were decent human beings and that totally helps make them relatable. I hate when people seem so outside of norm that you just cannot connect to them.
The side characters were neat as well, I like Olivia, Jackson’s parents and Jocelyn’s brother a lot. The full cast really brought the story to life.
The ending on this book really as intrigued me to see where this series goes.
The concept of EVE (don’t want to spoil here) is so cool. It would be awesome to imagine what life would be like if you had this ability.
Gripes:
Finding out the reasoning for Jackson getting in contact with Jocelyn was a little crazy, essentially something that happened in one era would happen in the other. I like the whole paranormal mysticism, but when I read that little part I almost gave the book three stars instead of four. I decided to be a little more open-minded because the concept was original and this is fiction.

A couple weeks after the movie was released, Rob Thomas and Jennifer Graham also released the first ever Veronica Mars book. I pre-ordered this baby the second the movie was over (along with the movie soundtrack). The book was released March 25th. Make sure that you watch the movie before you read the book. The book starts off right where the movie left off and has spoilers from the movie, including who actually killed Logan’s girlfriend.
Likes:
Rob Thomas is an amazing writer. This book comes to life and continues the world-building you know and love from the TV show and movie.
All your faves are in the book, Logan, Weevil, Mac, Wallace, Keith – everyone is here for the party. Plus the book references a lot of the old cases from the show. It is like being able to fangirl over the series while reading an intense new investigation.
The story hooks you – I was almost late to work because I was reading the book in the morning and did not want to stop. It is a quick read and the pacing really keeps you interested. This “Who Done It” is done right!
Veronica’s voice stays true to who she was in the books and movie. I really think she is one of the most well-written characters in TV / book history and that is why the show has such a huge fan base.
Gripes:
Not a single one – this is hopefully the beginning of a beautiful book friendship
