I hate how this author writes. Everything is written like a script, not a book. And this sudden and confusing world building? Why was none of this introduced in book 1? It's a good plot but executed so poorly.

It would be a 3.5 but I'm bumping it up to a 4 because I really enjoy Elise Bryant's writing. This was so strong, but the reveal just wasn't strong enough. It felt like it was out of left field. It was disappointing. However, great characters and i really wanna read more.

The plot is pretty good and interesting but the ending was pretty weak. I think this series was weakened by the fact there wwere too many PoVs. If there were just one, or two, it would've better.

A guilty pleasure and I shan't be judged! Still not the biggest fan of the romance but that plot was good.

This story isn't sticking with me, but it's still a fun read. I really adore the characters and the journey they're on. 

I just didn't vibe with this. I didn't enjoy the magic system, the world, or the characters. I think I'll recommend to people, but it wasn't for me.

So much better than the show. Pip was "not like other girls" in the show and annoyed me. She's so much better in the book. I was ready to hate this because I didn't enjoy the show, but this was much better. 

This was actually way better than I expected. I went it thinking this was gonna be a 3 star, but I really enjoyed the magic, the world, and the mystery.

I love this series but there's so much info-dumping, making the books unnecessarily long. He needs to explain every single detail, but he doesn't have to.

While I enjoy the books when I read them, they don't stick with me. I finish them and I just forget what happens, and  what I do remember makes the stories feel repetitive.
