Bland characters, plot, and writing, but manages to pander directly to me by referencing two of my favorite movies, Dead Poets Society and Ghostbusters, by name as though that will distract me. And, y'know, it kind of worked.

Talk about unfairly maligned, holy god. Anne Rice wrote the Vampire novel and examined the philosophy and politics of vampirism thoughtfully and deftly and all we credit her for is erotica. Madame, we owe you an apology.

One of the most racist books I've ever read. I honestly think the 1988 film starring Hugh Grant did a great deal more with the material, and that movie ends with the Worm Woman wearing a strap-on in her lair. So. Take from that what you will.

Damn you, Bram Stoker! I expected more!
