Cute art style. Doesn't reinvent the wheel plot-wise, but it's a nice enough middle grade story with a diverse cast of well-designed characters. However, for me, it was just a visceral reminder of all the people I was friends with and secretly hated in middle school. Theater kid middle schoolers are the most vicious goddamn people alive.

I get that it's the first Miss Marple story and Christie was probably still getting ahold of what she wanted out of it, but this book needed WAY more Miss Marple. 

Further solidifies my opinion that the 2016 Ghostbusters reboot suffered from bad writing and corporate sensibilities, not of casting or premise. This comic fleshes out the characters in a way that makes them more interesting and distinct. Also, the humor is considerably more thoughtful and sparing in the way the movie's humor consistently falls flat. I heartily believe that if the 2016 women-led Ghostbusters remake had been written by Dan Aykroyd himself or even just written with more care toward the original's style in mind, it would have been a smash-hit with fans the way the new sequels are. Just saying.

Anyways, another win by the IDW Ghostbusters team. Sexiest people on earth.

I have more experience and familiarity with gifted schools in Colorado than one might imagine. I thought this book did a decent job of portraying the ways in which gifted institutions sow an unbelievable amount of toxicity and elitism among parents in particular and children by extension. Although, by the end, the melodrama of it all took over and I thought the thesis was lost just a little bit.
